Fault Tolerant Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Three - phase Four -bridge Topology

The phase failure will cause the three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor to fail to operate normally. In order to make the permanent magnet synchronous motor operate normally under certain conditions after the phase failure occurs, in this paper, the mathematical model of three-phase PMSM in A-phase failure is established firstly based on the relationship between winding current and voltage after phase failure, healthy phase current is calculated based on the principle of constant electromagnetic torque before and after failure and voltage feedforward is calculated, these guarantee the normal operation of the motor during the A-phase open circuit fault. In order to improve the smoothness of the electromagnetic torque output under motor failure, the current controller based on active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) was redesigned to replace the original PI controller. Finally, the proposed fault-tolerant algorithm was simulated and verified by MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the fault-tolerant control algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the electromagnetic torque ripple of the three-phase PMSM in the open winding fault of the stator winding, and improve the fault-tolerant performance of the motor control system.
