Comparison and Analysis of Reactive Power Compensation Strategy in Power System

The loads of power system are mainly motor and transformer. They are all inductive loads. The establishment of magnetic field of these inductive loads needs to absorb reactive power in the power system, resulting in power factor decline, voltage instability, and even affect the stability of the power system. Therefore, the study of reactive power compensation measures in power system is of great significance to the stable operation of power system. Previous papers mostly introduced a single way of reactive power compensation. Few papers compared and analyzed different ways of compensation. This paper expounds the common reactive power compensation methods in power system, and makes comparative analysis.
