5G Millimeter Wave Channel Modeling and Simulations for a High-Voltage Substation

To satisfy the needs of ubiquitous power internet of things, channel measurement in typical electrical scenario should be done in order to explore the difference in channel parameters between existing standardization and actual environment. In this work, virtual massive MIMO channel measurements are performed in a high-voltage substation environment at 28 GHz including both LOS and NLOS routes. Channel parameters obtained by modeling such as the path loss, delay spread and azimuth angle spread of arrive are calculated and analyzed. Moreover, based on QuaDRiGa platform the accuracy of channel parameters are validated. Furthermore, both measurement and simulation parameters are compared with 3GPP standardization and models in other scenarios. The provided results show that channel parameters obtained in this work filled with the blank of existing standardization and research, which is significant for design ubiquitous power internet of things and 5G wireless communications systems.
