Improvement of Dynamic Stability of power system by Optimal Interline Power Flow Controller

In this work GWO tuned interline power flow controller based damping controller is proposed to enhance dynamic stability of power sys-tem. The small signal transfer function model of IPFC has been used for this study. The IPFC based lead-lag controller parameters are tuned by GWO, PSO and DE techniques. The input mechanical power to generator has been changed to create disturbance in power system and ITAE based criterion has been chosen as objective function for power oscillation damping. The speed and real power deviation subject to the disturbance have been observed and it is compared with various optimization techniques. Stepwise procedure has been performed, that follows IPFC basing controller can damp oscillation much effectively as compared to PSO and DE techniques.
