Design of Power Control Strategy for PMSG based Variable Speed Wind Turbine

This paper present mathematical modelling, design and control strategy for grid connected renewable source. A PMSG based WECS is connected with back-to-back converter through DC link capacitor. In addition, grid side converter control strategy has been developed for a grid connected PMSG used in wind power plant. By using GSC, it can successfully maintain the grid voltage constant in variation of environmental conditions. The control of grid voltage using PI controller is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Performance and effectiveness of obtained results are presented and analysed.
