IoT in Pre-Analytical Phase of Breast Cancer Specimens Handling in Thailand Hospitals

Using chemotherapy in a breast cancer patient, resulting in a greatly suffer in patients from the side effect. The key factor in a selection of breast cancer treatment method depends on diagnostic reports from a pathology laboratory, which correlate to a pre-analytical process of breast cancer specimens handling. Since the process is still lack of a formalin fixation time monitoring tool, the prototype based on the internet of things (IoTs) is proposed in this work. From a practical implementation in Khon Kaen province, it is found that the prototype can monitor a fixation time good enough as well as an integrated notification function when a fixation time exceeds the golden period.
