Development of highly sensitive interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) with APTES/GOx based lab-on-chip biosensor to determine glucose level

This paper principally delineates a biosensor for glucose detection through surface modified interdigitated electrodes (IDE). An aluminum interdigitated electrodes with a 5μm gap between the fingers is fabricated using conventional fabrication process. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Hawk 3D nano-profiler are used to observe the surface morphology. The surface modification of the IDE was done by using 2%aptes, 2.5% glutaraldehyde and 2 units per ml of glucose oxidase. Finally, the device tested with different concentration of glucose concentration (1μM to 1mM). Based on the result the sensor able to detect the glucose solution from 1μM to 100mM.
