Location-Recommendation-based Virtual Network Embedding Improved by Trajectory Covering in FiWi Networks

The FiWi network provides flexible mobile access services included by rich location data reflecting user preferences and even inter-dependency among users. Owing to the high inter-dependency, the Virtual Networks (VNs) coming from different user groups can be embedded into the same substrate Data Center (DC), hence decreasing the energy consumption of establishing inter-DC lightpaths. The inter-dependency described as similar interest trajectory among user groups' VNs was previously discussed. While this paper, we further improve the inter-dependency of VNs by virtue of trajectory covering, i.e., a flexible vehicle trajectory covers multiple similar interest trajectories so that more VNs can share the same DC resource. The simulation results well demonstrate the better energy-saving effect of new algorithm than before.
