The Method of Approximate Estimation of the Dynamic Load of the Train in the Braking Process

The work is devoted to the study of the train longitudinal dynamics with a non-uniform order of formation in the process of braking. The purpose of the research is to develop evaluation principles for determining the most unfavorable formation conditions in terms of the maximum value of reactions in intercar connections for heavy trains. The technique is based on a two-mass dynamic calculation scheme with the compilation of dynamic equations and obtaining a solution in an explicit form. At the same time, the number of the intercar connection varies, according to which the conditional division of the composition into two couplings takes place. A rule has been developed for finding the bond number at which the global maximum of the longitudinal forces occurs and the values of this maximum. The proposed method can be used to assess the dynamic load of freight trains, to justify the order of formation of the composition with different loading cars, to select braking modes and design of brake systems with pneumatic brakes.
