Design and analysis of C-shaped trapezoidal patch antenna for bandwidth enhancement

This paper presents a systematic methodology design for a C-shaped with trapezium slot cut antenna, based on rectangular geometry. This antenna design gives for wide band applications in the frequency range of 1.92 to 3.28 GHz. This band is also used for wireless communication (Wi-Fi, WiMAX), mobile, satellite communication and microwave communication. The resonating peak frequency is obtained at 2.4 GHz with high return loss of -24.2 dB and gain, directivity, antenna efficiency and radiation efficiency at this frequency are 4.3 dBi, 4.8 dBi, 99.98% and 100% respectively. This antenna is fabricated on Glass Epoxy (FR4) material or dielectric substrate with microstrip line feed technique. IE3D software is used to simulate this antenna and simulated result of this antenna provides the bandwidth of about 52.3%.
