Temperature Field Analysis of Stator Transposition Strand Based on Three-Dimensional Coupled Thermal-fluid Network Model

This paper presents a three-dimensional (3-D) coupled thermal-fluid network model to calculate the motor temperature, which solves the problem that the temperature field of the stator transposed strands is hard to calculate. Taking a 250MW hydro-generator as an example, this model couples the fluid field and temperature field, and takes the transposed structure of stator winding into account to calculate the temperature of the stator. Otherwise, this paper also discusses the influence of different number of ventilation ducts on temperature distribution. Finally, using finite element method (FEM) to verify the correctness of the proposed model.
