A Collaborative Control Strategy of DFIG System with Energy Storage in Weak Grid

This paper proposes a DFIG system collaborative control strategy with energy storage function in weak grid, which can achieve high-efficiency control performance and support the voltage and frequency stability. Based on the analyses of the internal power balance of DFIG system, control targets of the grid-side converter, the rotor-side converter and the energy storage module are obtained. Low-complexity model predictive control (LC-MPC) strategy, virtual synchronous generator (VSG) strategy and PI based strategy are used in different parts to achieve corresponding goals. On this basis, a collaborative control strategy is further proposed, which can realize the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control of DFIG, which further provide frequency and voltage support for the power grid. The dc-bus voltage is controlled via a DC/DC converter using the energy storage module. Simulation results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed collaborative control strategy.
