Performance Comparison of Nature-Inspired Metaheuristics in the Optimal Sizing of Analog Circuits

This paper presents a performance comparison between nature-inspired metaheuristics, namely, Particle Swarm Optimization, Invasive Weed Optimization and Firefly Algorithm. Application to analog circuit sizing is considered. Input parasitic impedance and the current transfert bandwidth of a CMOS second generation current conveyor (CCII) are optimized. Viability of the reached performances is cheched via Hspice Simulations. Robustness measure is performed to further highlight performances of the considered metaheuristics.
