A Fast and Non-Directional Calibration Method for Fiber Optic Gyro Inertial Navigation System

The laboratory three-axis inertial test turntable is used to improve the calibration accuracy of the fiber optic gyro inertial navigation system and improve the calibration efficiency by programming and optimizing the discrete calibration test flow. The error model of the fiber optic gyro and accelerometer are analyzed, and a discrete calibration method of the combination of the rotation and position experiences is designed by the three-axis inertial measurement turntable. The method does not need the orientation of the turntable. By the design of the entire cylinder number for the turntable makes the integrate of the angular velocity of the earth on horizontal component of turnable without north reference into zero and eliminates the influence on the calibration process in the traditional angular velocity experiences due to the impact of the start and stop phase's velocity errors. Subtracting sampling data in reverse rotation from the sampling data in forward rotation totally eliminate the impact of earth's rotation. This method reduces the need for a calibration environment. Through a series of process calibration experiments, the calibration of the inertial navigation system is completed quickly.
