On-Line Monitoring and Simulation of Transmission Line Network Voltage Stability Using FVSI

Till now many of line indices have been proposed by the engineers for the assessment of voltage stability of a power transmission network. For the fast voltage stability assessment of a transmission network FVSI (Fast Voltage Stability Index) is used and assumed that the active and reactive power flow in the same direction in a line. The FVSI is helpful to bring down the computational effort for the stability assessment. In this paper FVSI is used to assess the voltage stability of a 14-bus transmission network based on IEEE-14 bus test data. This index depends on the type of transmission network and interconnection of buses. Here monitoring is done for the load and generation changes on complete network and individual bus.
