Hybrid system for static load models parameters identification and electric power system simulation

Static load models hold immense applicability in Electric Power Systems (EPS) steady-state analysis. This paper describes the most used static load models - polynomial and exponential - and proposes a hybrid system for parameters identification of the described models and EPS simulation, through an interface between the Python programming language and the OpenDSS EPS simulation software. Providing a theoretical foundation, this work presents the methodology implemented in the system, which employs computational optimisation with the method of least squares and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, statistical analysis and EPS simulation. Its results, validated with measured data from various load compositions, acquired in a laboratory, indicate that the system has notable accuracy, precision and a wide application prospect in smart grids.
