Robust Method for Synthesizing Low-RCS High-Gain Antennas Using Metasurfaces

Using array theory, a robust method to reduce the Radar Cross Section (RCS, σ) of an existing antenna, without affecting its radiation performance, is demonstrated. The proposed method is validated by reducing the RCS of a microstrip-patch antenna array consists of ten elements in (5×2) arrangement. Both the scattering and the radiation performances are verified using simulation data.
