Dual-Beam Transmit from Shared Aperture with Constant Envelope Constraint

An element-digital array aperture is to be shared between a primary radar mission and secondary communications mission, but the inputs to the amplifiers must be constant envelope to avoid distortion. An approximation is constructed that gives lower peak-to-average power ratio than the simple combination of the two desired signals. This approximation allows us to make a quantitative comparison of simultaneous sharing of the aperture to alternative concepts for supporting both missions.
