A 2.5Gb/s Real-Time Visible-Light Communication System B ased on Phosphorescent White LED

In this paper, a high-speed white-light real-time VLC system based on phosphorescent white LED is proposed. This system employs 64QAM-Discrete Multi-Tone (64QAM-DMT) modulation format. The hardware architecture is built by utilizing field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The system performance is also investigated by the effect of attenuation of attenuator in both transmitter and receiver, peak-to-peak voltage and bias current of the LED. It is displayed in experimental results that this real-time VLC system achieve a 2.5Gb/s data rate under a 1.7 m free space transmission length successfully.
