Dynamic Voltage Stability Enhancement of A Wind Farm Connected To Grid Using Facts- A Comparison

In this paper emphasis is on implementation of FACTS devices for dynamic voltage stability enhancement of a grid connected power system. With increase in demand for electrical energy installation of additional GW capacity need to be increased by the year 2020. Because of the complications in the new capacity installation worldwide there is a rapid growth in opting for renewable energy sources especially the wind energy as it is clean. Improved design of the turbine design and plant utilizations have made a remarkable change and decline in the energy generation cost. Thus recent grids demand small DG operation with power control mode. This paper emphasizes on VAR planning using static and dynamic compensators so as to keep the distributed generator interconnected with the system even after disturbance. Implementation of STATCOM and SVC during disturbance in the test system has been studied and the simulations results are presented that are used for study and analysis of the system.
