Reduced Complexity Architecture for Normalization of Histogram of Oriented Gradients

Histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) is an important tool in the process of object detection in many image processing applications. Normalization of the histogram data within the process, requires implementation of division and square root operations which have high hardware complexity. In this work a new approach for normalization process of the histogram is presented. The proposed method reduces the hardware complexity, the areas and the number of required modules.
