Detailed Design of Second Order Model of Lithium-Ion Battery Simulator Based on Experimental Measurements

The present paper aims the procedure of building a Lithium-Ion precise simulation tool based on experimental measurements. The added value of the paper is highlighted by the fact that it explains the differences between several battery parameter identification approaches and data manipulation in order to create models with increased accuracy. The paper presents step by step all the processes that the reader needs to take in order to fulfill the goal of creating simulation tools with minimal error in comparison with the measured data. More, the residual values that are obtained from different approaches, some more complex than others, are compared in order to give the reader a reference in finding the best compromise when choosing the approach for battery modeling. All the discussions in the paper are based and compared with actual experimental measurements carried out on a Lithium-Ion battery cell.
