Low Voltage Distribution Grid Used Fault Current Limiter Controlled by Inverse Voltage Source

With the rapid development of DC distribution networks, the protection technology of DC distribution networks has been widely recognized. In this paper, the fault current limitation device used in DC distribution network is researched and a bidirectional current fault current limiter topology is realized by using DC voltage source. The working principle of the circuit is easy to understand. The fault current amplitude could be easily controlled by changing the duty ratio of PWM signal of the semiconductor devices. The topology can formulate an effective protection to distribution network. The correctness of the proposed topology is verified by PSCAD simulation.
