Cuk-SEPIC Based Bridgeless PFC Dual Output Converter Fed SRM Drive

This paper proposes a bridgeless PFC (power factor correction) based dual output converter for SRM (switched reluctance motor) drive. The converter is configured with two equal output voltages which are generated by the integration of two converters with inverted and non-inverted outputs. Moreover the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) operation is selected here for PFC. The DCM operation offers reduction in size of magnetic components. The simple control is adopted here to obtain PFC as compare to CCM (continuous conduction mode) and CRM (critical conduction mode) with reduction in cost as only one voltage sensor is required. To obtain speed control of proposed SRM drive the two equal output voltages of the converter are regulated over wide range.
