Proposed Defense Topology against Cyber Attacks in Smart Grid

In modern power systems, everything has become advanced technologically. Many devices have been employed for sensing, measurement and the control of the power network. There is a two-way communication between supplier and the consumers. All these things have made the power grid network to be smarter. But at the same time, risk of cyber-attacks has increased a lot due to existing cyber-infrastructure and communication links. Different attacks have done by the attackers to get different purposes. A new defense topology is proposed to secure the smart grid against the cyber-attacks. The concept of dummy values is introduced in power network to detect the cyber-attacks particularly false data injection attack (Stealth attack). Dummy value is fixed for all the time. This method gives the best results to protect the power system from cyber-attacks.
