Process Analysis and Parameter Optimization of Five Axis NC Machine for Machining Complex Curved Surface Impellers

This paper mainly introduces the whole process of machining technology and parameter setting of complex curved surface impeller. The main blade and branch blade of the impeller are irregular curved surface. The thickness of the blade becomes thinner with the decrease of radius in radial direction. The flow passage between adjacent blades becomes narrower and narrower. The height of the blade increases gradually. The curvature is getting bigger and bigger. When machining the impeller, the interference between the cutter and the adjacent blade is very easy. The choice of cutter, the speed of spindle, the feed speed, the amount of cutter and the machining allowance have a direct impact on the machining efficiency.
