Design of Permanent Magnet Brushless Automobile Alternator with Electromagnetic Clutch

The generator is a key component of the automotive power system. It is the source of energy for automotive electrical appliances, storage batteries and vehicle electrical equipment. The main factor affecting the life of the generator is because the power supply link of the engine rotor excitation coil is fed by brush and slip ring. Yes, the mechanical friction of the brush and the slip ring is damaged, which is the root cause of the service life of the generator. This paper introduces a prototype of a brushless permanent magnet automotive alternator that uses electromagnetic clutch for power switching, and maintains the core design of the prototype to the maximum extent to adapt to the modern product; and its principle and structure, performance, characteristics, etc. were analyzed and summarized.
