Tri Band Antenna for 2.4/3.5/5.2 GHz WLAN and WiMAX Applications

The progress in wireless communications requires the incorporation of various radios into a single platform to maximize connectivity. A single feed three circularly polarized modes operating at 2.4/5.8 GHz for WLAN and 3.5 GHz for WiMAX applications. First band is achieved by patch antenna with U shaped radiator. For next two bands additional L shaped strips and I shaped strips along with patch rotated by 45 degree. The design is analysed using CST microwave studio. which is based on Finite integration Method. The dimension of the antenna is 44.35mm × 46.9 mm × 2.2mm and Fr4 dielectric substrate with ε
_r
=4.4. The easy configuration and simple shape of proposed antenna is very useful for wireless communication system. The proposed antenna shows wide bandwidth from 3.1GHz to 5.5 GHZ 5.8 which is 2.37GHz UWB. At frequency 2.4 GHz bandwidth is 410 MHz.
