Control and Performance Analysis for A Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Driven by A Wind Turbine Using Different Optimized Controllers

In this paper a MATLAB/SIMULINK were used to study the performance and apply different optimized controllers during different disturbances. The used controllers are PI controller, PID controller, Fuzzy Controller and hybrid Fuzzylogic+PID Controller. The Z-N method is used to tune the PI and PID gains to enhance the system performance during different disturbances. However, the Particle swarm optimization is applied for tuning all controller's gains. The control strategy of the doubly-fed induction generator rotor and grid sides converters are presented using decoupled method to obtain wind power. The simulation results are obtained in a comparative form using different conventional and optimized controllers. These results illustrate the effectiveness of the optimized controllers over the conventional controllers in enhancing the system performance.
