Carbon Nanotubes and CoFe2O4 Nanoparticles Composite for Nanomagnetic Sensors

Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) and Cobalt Ferrite (CFO) magnetic nanoparticles (Npts) nanocomposite was synthesized in a one-step process by mixing and sonicating samples in presence of a surfactant. Structure and morphology of the composite was verified using X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Magnetic properties were verified performing magnetic force microscopy (MFM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The saturation magnetization (Ms) for CNTs showed a significant improvement, 207.7 emu g

as compared to pristine cobalt ferrite's (CFO's) M

value of 63 emu g

.
