Research on Low Intercepting Radar Waveform Based on LFM and Barker Code Composite Modulation

Aiming at the problem that the single modulation radar signal is easily intercepted by the enemy in modern electronic countermeasures. A radar waveform based on LFM and Barker code compound modulation is designed from the radar emission waveform, using the characteristics of the LFM signal and the Barker code signal, and the composition of the low intercept radar waveform is theoretically analyzed. The time domain waveform, spectrum and ambiguity function diagram of the compound modulation signal are obtained by simulation. The distance of the compound modulation radar signal, the Doppler ambiguity function and the interception factor are studied by comparing with the LFM signal and the Barker code signal. The simulation results show that the waveform of the composite modulation radar has the strong low interception and anti-jamming ability due to the large time wide product of LFM signal and the Barker code signal. At the same time, it has better distance and speed resolution.
