Coordinated Control System of Multi-Level Belt Conveyors for Promotion the Energy Efficiency Based on IoT-Technology

Belt conveyor system is usually configured based on maximum volume. Consequently, it leads to severe energy waste when multi-level belt conveyors running at constant speed for a long time. In order to enhance the operation efficiency of multi-level belt conveyors in bulk terminal, a coordinated control system is presented for promotion the energy efficiency of multi-level belt conveyors based on Internet of things technology. It could acquire belt speed, bulk material flow and power consumption of each level of belt conveyors in real-time using sensors and data acquisition modules of the system. On the basis of these data, coordination control software could be used to monitor the running state and to coordinate the belt speed of each level in accordance with the current material flow on belt conveyors. The experimental results show that the system can achieve coordinated control of multi-level belt conveyors in real-time. It could be conducive to providing hardware foundation for speed controlling strategy of belt conveyors in bulk terminals.
