Features of Marine Education in the Arctic Region

This article is devoted to identifying areas and existing features of the maritime education development. The study found that in the context of growing interdependence of economic and defense activities, a special place is given to the revival of the lost trends in the development of maritime education in the Russian Federation, the main goal of which is the comprehensive training of specialists taking into account the features of naval operations in the Arctic. The paper also emphasizes that when preparing maritime specialists, universities are guided not only by the requirements of federal state educational standards, but also by the norms of the International Maritime Organization.
