Dynamic Measurement Error Evaluation and Minimization based on FIR-filter

The paper deals with a problem of the dynamic measurement error correction. The dynamic measurement error is determined by two components. The first one is due to the dynamic properties (lag) of a transducer. The second one is due to the presence of additive noise at the transducer output. The reduction of the dynamic error consists in the simultaneous correction of these two components. The structure of the measuring system with the dynamic measurement error evaluation is developed. The correction of dynamic error is carried out by simultaneous reconstruction and filtering of the transducer input signal being measured. The structure of a special filter with a preliminary correction of the transducer transfer function to a form convenient for further processing of the signal being measured is proposed. Further processing of the signal consists in the iterative application of the reconstruction FIR-filter with estimation of the dynamic error. Computer simulation of the proposed measuring system is carried out. A second-order transducer is considered during the simulation. The optimum values of the order of the reconstruction filter for input signals of various types are obtained in the presence of additive random noise at the transducer output. Based on the proposed structure of the measuring system, a decrease in the dynamic error value is shown.
