A 10Gb/s QPSK Carrier Recovery Circuit for 60GHz Millimeter-Wave Receiver in 65nm CMOS

A quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) carrier recovery circuit is proposed in this paper. The carrier recovery method is discussed and utilized by a push-push frequency quadrupler and two cascaded injection-locked frequency dividers. The simulated results indicate that the maximum conversion gain of the frequency quadrupler is 0.13dB under a 3.98dBm input power. The QPSK communication supported by the proposed carrier recovery circuit can achieve the data rate up to 10Gb/s. The carrier recovery circuit consumes 15.9mW power from a 1V power supply.
