Research on Refractive Lens Made of Electromagnetic Induction Materials

The performance of the focusing element directly affects the image quality of the millimeter-wave imaging. A two-element lens fabricated by embedding CGC materials in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) was applied. The CGC material has a refractive index of 1.504 at 35 GHz. Millimeter wave (MMW) images of dual-illumination source and single illumination have been obtained with the two-element lens. The results show that CGC materials has enough refractive power for millimeter wave, which presents good feasibility of the two-element lens in focal plane MMW imaging.
