Analysis of Hybrid Microwave/Ultraviolet Transmission Over Non-Line-of-Sight Link

Hybrid radio frequency/free-space optical communication has attracted much attention recently. This paper uses the ultraviolet as the carrier of the FSO link for non-line-of-sight transmission. The path loss and outage probability are analyzed for the hard-switching hybrid microwave/ultraviolet communication system. Numerical simulations indicate that the hybrid microwave/ultraviolet communication system can achieve better performance.
