Study of Hysteresis Current Controller for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

Conventional hysteresis current controller methods are presented in this paper. This is most appropriate suitable method for current regulated VSI fed AC drives due to its ease of implementation and quick current chasing. Though, it has certain limitations like large current ripple in steady state and variable switching frequency operation of IGBT inverter switch during motor load changes. This paper includes various PWM technique and thorough analysis of hysteresis current controller. The complete PMSM drive system is modeled and tested in the MATLAB-Simulink environment.
