Metrics for Comparison of Polarimetric and Thermal Target to Background Contrast

Comparison of the contrast improvement of polarimetric signatures to that of thermal signatures of the same scene has proved problematic due to the nature and offset and range of the data. We present a survey of metrics and their response on several representative data sets.
