Refreshable Braille Display for the Visually Impaired

The modern age has been called the information age. People everywhere in the world are now capable of accessing any information about any topic with great ease due to the introduction and advancement in the digital domain. The information stored (mostly in the digital form) is accessible either visually or, in some cases, through audio. Hence, the visually impaired have either very limited or no reach to this information. They use other means to access information, the Braille language being one of them. They learn using books written in the Braille language. We have developed an economic tool which helps the visually impaired to learn the Braille alphabets, numbers and various alphanumeric characters using a digital file as an input. Its application can be extended to converting an entire digital file to a physical output which any person with visual impairedness can read easily.
