Electrical network models of one-and multidimensional ferroelectret structures with open tubular channels

Electric circuits are widely used in piezoelectric modeling due to the well-known correlation between electric circuit parameters and the mechanical and electrical behavior of the system. Recently, an equivalent electric circuit was proposed to simulate the electromechanical behavior of ferroelectrets with open tubular channels. Here, this model is extended to simulate ferroelectret structures with different tubular geometries. The flexibility of this extension is demonstrated by modelling samples with multiple resonances, i.e. containing channels with different widths. The results agree well with measured data. The electric circuit parameters are obtained from dielectric spectroscopy measurements and the circuits are simulated with Pspice software. The results are compared with an existing model originally developed to simulate curved polyvinylidene fluoride films (PVDF). It is shown that the proposed model can easily incorporate additional resonances and agrees better with the experimental results at low frequencies. It also has the potential to increase the degree-of-freedom in the design of new and advanced ferroelectret structures.
