Intelligent system for reliable monitoring and controlling of automobile traffic

In this article the architecture of an intelligent system for monitoring and control of road traffic, which uses Internet protocol (IP) cameras from different manufacturers, is proposed, and which provides the reliability of operation. The system allows real-time to identify potential congestion and to adjust the intervals of switching the traffic lights in a way to relieve the stretch of road; to analyze the state of deterioration of a road covering; to monitor violations of traffic rules and defined speed limits. At the same time the system is easily scalable and open to adding new features and functions.
