Intelligent modeling and thermal error test for spindle of high speed CNC machine tools

Thermal error is the main factor affecting precision of high speed CNC machine tools. Aiming at the hot spot of heat error of machine tool, it is studied in this paper the thermal error detection and compensation modeling of a vertical precision NC machining center. The thermal error detection device is designed, in that seven temperature sensors are used to detect the temperature of the spindle system and two displacement sensors are used to detect the thermal error displacement. The main element analysis technique is used to optimize the temperature measurement point and extract the eigenvalues closely related to the thermal error and displacement. Using artificial intelligence neural network technology, a thermal error model is established, which has good ability of inversion and prediction.
