Impact of volume resistance on the surface resistance of paper

In this publication, the paper deals with surface resistance, surface resistivity and volumetric resistance of electro- insulating materials. In the next part of the publication, an experiment is described which examines the surface resistance of paper and how the surface resistance is influenced by the number of paper stacked on top of each other. In the experiment, two samples are used first with one piece of paper and second with ten pieces of paper. The voltage values were 1, 10 and 100 V. At the same time, a conductive and non-conductive pad was used to verify the influence of the conductive pad on the measured results. The main objective of the experiment was to investigate the effect of the volume resistivity of insulating material on the surface resistance measurement in the frequency range 0.1mHz- 10kHz.The measured results were graphically processed and evaluated.
