Variable tariff energy meter with automatic power flow control

Increasing price of energy and public pressure to reduce carbon emissions has lead utilities to increase energy efficiency efforts. India is going through the scarcity of electricity [1]. There are many places where we can avoid the misuse of electricity. Herein we have designed a system which can be used for the same by following means:-1). Providing the electricity at variable rate instead of fixed rate depending upon the load on the power system i.e. sell electricity at higher rate during peak load time. This will be economical motivation for people to avoid using unnecessary electrical equipment during peak load. 2). By providing a fixed amount of power to the household i.e. household can consume a particular amount of power. This will help in even distribution of power between users. This paper discusses a model and makes recommendations which would be useful in current Indian scenario.
