Performance analysis of 16-channel CWDM system with EDFA and SOA amplifiers

This paper analyses the performance of 16 CWDM channel ranging from 1271nm to 1591nm with optical amplifier, in which cascaded EDFA between two SOA has been used. Optisystem13.0 software tool has been used for designing and simulation of the proposed configuration. System performance is analyzed at different date rates and at different optical fiber length. Maximun Q factor of 33.91 is achieved for 16 channel each at 5Gbps data rate. However at different fiber length better result is obtain at 60km with maximum Q factor of approx 26 and minimum BER of 1.01e-144. Also Flat gain of 60nm is achieved at higher wavelength for 1491nm-1551nm.
