Researching of electrodynamic systems for hydrated micas microwave processing

Application range of microwave energy is constantly growing. One of perspective directions is hydrated mica (vermiculite) processing systems, which uses intensive microwave fields. The use of microwave energy instead of traditional heat burning furnaces, which using products of hydrocarbons combustion has lot of advantages and allows to get the huge power winning, get rid from air pollutions during production of exfoliated vermiculite, substantially decrease dimensions of machine. The analysis of existent developments shows that during creation process of microwave exfoliation system, it is necessary to solve a number of technical tasks : forming of high intensity microwave field with equitable distribution of tension in area where processed material is located; forming of the field with predefined polarization; exception the risk of HF discharge appearance in the processing zone; matching generators (magnetrons) with workload; combining microwave power from a several generators. In this paper, presented an analysis of the specific technical and technological problems that were identified during the development, research and operation of a pilot plant for microwave processing hydrated micas in intense microwave fields.
