Enhancement of gain with coplanar isosceles triangular patch antenna for dual-band applications

In this paper, a coplanar triangular patch antenna has designed to work at Ku-band applications. Four equally shaped isosceles triangular patches has been considered and two inset feeds has applied to the two triangular radiating patches. The proposed antenna has obtain dual-band frequencies at 15.1GHz (for defense system) and 16.4 GHz (fixed link between point to point and multiband systems) with return loss of -39.8 dB and -25.4 dB respectively. The observed gain is 9.06 dB and 7.38 dB at two frequency bands. The VSWR is less than 2 dB for the proposed antenna. The proposed antenna is useful at Ku-band applications. The simulated and measured results are presented.
