Recent advances in high-power metamaterial microwave sources at UESTC

Metamaterials are a new type of artificial materials engineered to have some exotic properties such as Reversed Cherenkov radiation (RCR). Due to the attractive advantages such as high-power, high-efficiency, miniaturization, and easy fabrication, metamaterial microwave sources have been developed at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). In this talk, we first introduce the RCR and report the recent advances in the RCR experiment. Secondly, two kinds of S band high-power metamaterial microwave sources are reported. Finally, their potential applications are addressed.
