Outdoor propagation of wireless sensor network for the application of the automatic train crossbar

Wireless sensor network is one of the most technologies that growing very rapidly in this decade. That is happened because WSN has many application for humans life. One of the WSN applications is automatic train crossbar based on WSN. But its many deviance in this implemantation, one of them is studied in this work. It is the wave propagation characteristics around a train. A prototype of automatic train crossbar based on WSN is presented. In this research determine the exponential path loss in both conditions, Line of Sight (LOS and Non Line of Sight (NLOS)). In this research use star topologies with eight sensor dan one coordinator. The path loss exponential is determined with linear regression. Based on the experiment, the value of path loss exponential in LOS conditions is 1.3777 and 2.4442 for NLOS conditions when the train passing. In the other hand when no train passing, the value of path loss exponential in LOS conditions is 1.1199 and 1.5912 for NLOS conditions.
